Antique Leather:

All of our Chesterfield Sofas and Chairs are available in a wide range of leathers, colours and finishes. The base price is focused on the original, "Antique Finish", a high grade rub off leather, that shows a beautiful two tone effect when upholstered and rubbed back. This leather is our best seller, and offers not only a quality finish, but a high resistance to damage and wear. This is our favoured "family friendly" leather, and is easily cared for, using only a damp cloth or soft detergent to cleanse the leather. This leather is finished with a lacquer, to add protection and to ensure the antique finish remains in excellent condition for a long period. As this leather ages, the leather will crease and crinkle, the finish will wear and a brighter base colour will come through, beautifully enhancing the age and character of the leather.

Old English:

Old English is a Semi-Aniline leather, tanned to ensure a pleasing distressed finish. This leather will show marks and scars consistent with the age and life of the animal, for a genuine finish. The leather is soft, and when pulled in the deep buttoning process, will lighten in the buttons, with darker areas in the diamond. The leather is not finished, the grain remains open, and should be treated with leather care products at least 6 monthly, which will feed and maintain the leather. Grison leather restoration is perfect for this, as it feeds and colours the leather once more, ensuring it lasts long into the future. This leather is not as family friendly as others, as the grain is not corrected, and the leather will absorb water and blemishing easier than the Antique finish for example. Each hide and each piece of furniture made with this leather will be 100% unique, as each hide is different to the next. Old English Leather will give a pleasing distressed appearance quickly, and has a soft quality finish for prestigious use.

Oregon Leather:

Oregon Leather is a high performance, almost cracked finish with vibrant colours, suited for the customer who requires a traditional finish with a contemporary twist. A personal favourite of Chesterfield Heritage, Oregon Leather will not disappoint, and is easily cared for with a damp cloth and a mild leather feeder, Grison Leather Restoration will help to maintain this leather perfectly. This product has a performance level similar to that of an aniline product.

Nightsbridge Leather:

Knightsbridge is a full grain aniline leather, smooth and silky to the touch, with the addition of waxes and oils enabling a pull up effect when stretched. This type of leather will mark easily with use, giving a pleasing distressed finish as the Chesterfield is used. The leather also has a pleasing aroma, due to the oils used in the finishing process, and has a relaxed lived in look. Again, this leather is not as family friendly as others, and should be used in prestigious applications, as opposed to a young family environment, to ensure you get the best from your Chesterfield. The leather will show marks and scarring with use, each hide is unique and a sample should be regarded as no more than a guideline.

Newcastle Leather:

Newcastle is one of our most popular leathers. Newcastle Black is the deepest and shiniest of black leather finishes, which is really set off when combined with chrome studwork. Newcastle is a top grain pure aniline leather, finished with a blend of oils, vegetable tanned to achieve a glossy pull up effect, for the classic "Old Saddle" appearance. Being a pure aniline finish, Newcastle leather will begin to fade with age and use in sunlight, giving each Chesterfield a unique character of its own as it ages.

Tudor Cracked Wax Leather:

Our newest addition to the range, Tudor Cracked Wax Leather is offered in only 4 deep colours, each designed to crack and age quickly when upholstered, for a vintage look and feel. This effect can only be achieved using the best raw hides, and expert tanning to create a truly unique and beautiful finish with each use. The leather is very distressed, giving your Chesterfield Sofa the appearance of being much older than it really is. This leather is a top-quality leather, and carries a 35% surcharge. If the distressed, vintage look is for you, you will not find a better leather than this. Swatches are available on request.
