You should always ask your retailer about caring for your sofa prior to puchasing, just to ensure it is suitable for you. Often it is a very good idea to check the products you intend to buy are suitable to use wihen caring for your sofa. Caring for a leather sofa can be tricky, depending on the type of leather you have. Certain leather cleansers will harm leather if used incorrectly or on the incorrect kind of leather.
We have a growing range of leather care products available to ensure caring for your sofa is easy. There are many kinds of leather, some are harder to care for than others. Top Grain Corrected leather "Rub off" or "Antique" leather is very easy to care for, where as Aniline leathers are trickier. Leather is a raw material and will require certain levels of maintanence and care, to ensure the leather does not dry out, fade or discolour in the coming years. If you do buy a leather sofa be sure you know how to clean it, and when it to clean it. Sometimes the problem with caring for your sofa in leather, is not the products which are used, but the frequency of the cleaning. Ensure you check how often your leather sofa care should occur. We recommend cleaning a "top grain corrected" leather every 2-3 months with a simple leather wipe only for example, but if you are not sure what type of leather you have, contact us and we will do our best to help.
Our favourite product is Grison Leather Restorer, a restoration product unique in its own right. Not only does this product feed and protect your leather, it also has a pigment in it, designed to replenish the natural colouration of the leather, also excellent for covering scratches and cracking. Grison Leather restoration is suited to all types of leather, ensuring your leather sofa care is easy. Using a soft cloth, simply apply the balm to the sofa or chair, and work it in using small circles. Gently buff off the excess for a colourfast solution, ensuring caring for your sofa is easy.
